The unprecedented urban challenges brought about by rapid population growth, accompanied by resource scarcity, water insecurity, and climate anomaly, transcend the traditional confines of vulnerable local communities, significantly impacting the extensive global socio-economic and ecological geographies. Moreover, the current compound of social, political and environmental threats underscores the imperative for strategic responses to the new epistemology of urbanization and environmentalization. Confronted with these dire prospects, there is increasing urgency to critically reassess, reconfigure, and restructure the intricate interplay between the natural and built environments, requiring the exploration of viable solutions aimed at nurturing the habitats to not only endure but to thrive.
